  • 12:30 PM / Tar Heel Town presented by Publix Opens

    Start your game day in Tar Heel Town presented by Publix at Polk Place. Bring the entire family for music, food, games and goodies.

  • 12:45 PM / Rameses will sign autographs and take photos in the Kenan Amphitheatre

  • 1:00 PM / The Victory Walk

    A Carolina tradition, the Victory Walk is your chance to be up close and personal with the football team as they make their way through the Kenan Amphitheatre to Kenan Stadium. Grab a prime location along the route to guarantee your chance to see your favorite Tar Heel!

  • 1:30 PM / RJ will be in Tar Heel Town to sign autographs and take photos

  • 1:30 PM / Countdown to Kickoff presented by Bojangles’ Radio Show Begins in Tar Heel Town

  • 2:00 PM / Kenan Stadium Gates Open

  • 2:00 PM / Marching Tar Heels Drumline performs in the PIT

  • 2:30 PM / Marching Tar Heels perform in front of Wilson Library

    30 minutes prior to kickoff is when everyone starts making their way to Kenan Stadium for all the action. Make sure you’re in your seats to watch the Marching Tar Heels on-field and welcome the Tar Heels into the Tar Pit.

Portable Restrooms

ATM Locations

Six ATM’s are located in Kenan Stadium. Behind section 114 and 117 on the West Endzone Concourse, inside Gate 2 and Gate 6, as well as two in the Blue Zone.

Disability Seating

Seating for patrons with disabilities is available by exchanging the tickets you possess for disability accessible seats with supervisors in the West End Zone (Section 112-119) or near the visitor section (100) or section 131.

First Aid

In the event of a medical emergency, please notify one of the event staff or police officers in your area. Emergency Medical Staff are located near Gate 6 on the South Side and Gate 2 on the North Side, and in the Blue Zone, as well as roving response teams.

Fan Conduct Policy

Carolina’s image is shaped not only by our players, coaches and employees, but by our fans as well. Our goal is to create a high-energy environment to support our team while maintaining a wholesome family-oriented atmosphere. To ensure that all fans have a positive game day experience, each patron should act responsibly and be considerate of others. Stadium security personnel will respond to complaints of misconduct. Patrons who fail to comply with stadium policy after being warned will be subject to ejection or arrest. Acts such as fighting, being abusive to others, being intoxicated, throwing objects or committing other acts that may injure patrons or disrupt the progress of the game may result in ejection and/or arrest without prior warning. ACC policies support good sportsmanship at all times. Spectators are prohibited from accessing the field of play without proper game credentials. Violators are subject to arrest.

Gates

The gates to Kenan Stadium open 90 minutes prior to kickoff. The entrance gate listed on your ticket is the closest to your seat location. However, you may enter at any gate.

Kickoff Time

Typically game times are announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference and their television partners 12 days prior to the game.

Lost And Found

Found items should be turned into an usher, supervisor, or event staff personnel. Lost and Found inquiries may be made at the Stadium Operations booth at Gate 2 and the First Aid booth at Gate 6. Found items that are still in the possession of game day staff after the stadium has been cleared will be turned into the UNC Department of Public Safety Campus Lost and Found. Tar Heel Tracker

Parents/guardians may register their children inside Gate 3 and at Tar Heel Town prior to the start of each game. Children will be issued a wristband detailing their parent’s name, cell number & seat location, making it easier to reunite the parties should they be separated.

Prohibited Items

Alcoholic beverages, artificial noise makers, baby seats, large bags, balloons, banners and signs (larger than 8 ½” x 11”), beach balls, coolers or containers, explosives, fireworks, folding chairs, food and beverages (except sealed plastic water bottles), illegal drugs, laser pointers, pets (except service animals), large strollers, umbrellas, weapons of any kind, any other item that in the judgment of game management staff poses a safety hazard or detracts from the ability of others to enjoy the event. All permissible bags and containers are subject to search upon entry. Approved bags will be tagged to indicate the bag has been searched. Thank you for your cooperation.

Rameses Recycles

Don’t forget to recycle your bottles, cans, and blue cups! Bins can be found along the stadium walkways and at the gates. The tailgate recycling program is expanding to more campus parking lots than ever, so look out for Rameses Recycles volunteers and sport club athletes! They will provide you with color-coded recycling and trash bags at your parking space. Just separate your recyclables and leave it at your tailgate lot. Turn it green while you’re turning it blue! Ticketing Information

Children age two and under are permitted into Kenan Stadium without a ticket but are required to sit on a parent’s lap. All seats are reserved except for student seating. The ticket holder is restricted to the section, row, and seat indicated on the ticket. Tickets are generally mailed no later than nine days prior to the event. If tickets are ordered after this date, they must be picked up at the Ticket Office at Gate 3 (near the Bell Tower) prior to the game. Tickets left at Will Call may be picked up at the Gate 3 Ticket Office beginning 2.5 hours prior to the game. Photo Identification must be presented. Re-entry on ticket stub is prohibited. The UNC Ticket Office accepts cash or credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, and American Express) at the Smith Center Ticket Office (located in the Ernie Williamson Athletic Center) and on game days at Kenan Stadium. Inside Carolina Football with Larry Fedora airs every Saturday morning on Fox Sports South at 9 a.m. throughout the Southeast , and every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on WTVD (Triangle Market), Saturday’s at 8:30 a.m. on MASN, and in the Wilmington market on WILM at 11:30 a.m. and 11:35 p.m. All shows will also be available on GoHeelsTV via GoHeels.com.

“Larry Fedora Live” Radio Show - Larry Fedora Live will air Tuesday nights (Aug. 22, 29, Sept. 5, 12, 19, 26, Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24, Nov. 14, 21) from 7-8 p.m. The show originates from Top of the Hill Restaurant in downtown Chapel Hill.

Effective January 1, 2008; the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill prohibits smoking in buildings and areas controlled by the university. This means no smoking in or within 100 feet of Kenan Stadium. Re-Entry Is Prohibited.

Gameday Traditions

The Victory Walk

Starts at the top of Bell Tower Park, right outside the Kenan Football Center two and a half hours prior to kickoff. Greet the team as they follow the Marching Tar Heels and Cheerleaders from Bell Tower Drive to the steps of the Kenan Football Center.

Tar Heel Town presented by Publix

Located at Polk Place, Tar Heel Town has something for every Tar Heel fan: music, food, giveaways, and family activities including face painting, inflatable games and more. Tar Heel Town is the place to be to listen LIVE to the Bojangles’ Countdown to Kick-off pregame radio show with Dave Nathan and special guests, starting two hours prior to kickoff.  Don’t forget to catch the UNC Marching Tar Heels special performance one hour before every home game, before heading to Kenan Stadium to cheer the Heels on to Victory!

Rams Club Patio

Exclusively for Rams Club members, come enjoy light refreshments located at the Genome Sciences Building overlooking Bell Tower Park.


Tar Heel Seatbacks

Carolina Athletics is once again offering a way for football season ticket holders to enhance their comfort and game day experience at Kenan Stadium with Tar Heel Seatbacks! Tar Heel Seatbacks are waterproof, come in team colors, and feature the UNC logo. Tar Heel Seatbacks are permanently attached at your seat location for the entire season and are available in multiple styles. Upgrade your game experience by bringing the comfort of home to Kenan Stadium.

Gameday Parking and Tailgating

General Public Parking and Tailgating Locations at Carolina

The University of North Carolina Department of Athletics and the Carolina Football program want all fans to enjoy exciting game day Saturdays in beautiful Chapel Hill. With one of the most picturesque college campuses around along with an easy, convenient walk to an on-campus football stadium nestled beneath the iconic Carolina pines, there is no better place to enjoy the pageantry of a college football game. UNC Athletics encourages everyone to join us in cultivating a safe, lively, and enjoyable tailgating atmosphere. Tailgating at UNC is a cherished part of the Tar Heel game day tradition, and all fans are encouraged to share in the communal excitement that surrounds UNC games and brings people across the State of North Carolina to Chapel Hill.

Carolina encourages all fans to arrive early to begin their tailgate festivities before the game! Parking lots and decks open at 8:00 AM on weekend game days and fans are encouraged to begin tailgating at that time.

The following is a list of parking lots and decks, along with game day parking fare, for the most popular general public tailgating spaces around the Carolina campus in Chapel Hill.

Public Parking Lots are available for football games. Public Parking (standard sized vehicles) is available in the following lots:

RV Parking and Tailgating Location

For fans who would like to include their RV in their Carolina Football game day festivities, RV Parking is available at the Friday Center Park and Ride Lot. Tar Heel Express provides transportation into campus for the game. No public RV parking is available on campus.

The following applies to RV game parking:

  • RV reservations can be made using the Football Request Form. Reservations are encouraged 72-hours in advance to guarantee space on game day.
  • RV’s are expected to keep the number of spaces occupied to a minimum (no more than 7)
  • RV’s and their passengers are asked to please clean up all trash prior to departure
  • RV parking at the Friday Center is free

Town of Chapel Hill Public Parking and Tailgating Locations

In addition to the numerous tailgating options on the Carolina campus, the Town of Chapel Hill provides some excellent choices for the fans who want to take in the excitement of a Tar Heel Football Game Day on Franklin Street. These spots are located just a quick walk away from Kenan Stadium on the UNC campus.

Tar Heel Express Park & Ride Option

The Tar Heel Express is a fantastic option for fans who want to avoid game day traffic on campus and tailgate in one of UNC’s Park and Ride lots.

Chapel Hill Transit provides the Tar Heel Express shuttle service from local Park and Ride lots to UNC home football games.

  • The cost to ride the Tar Heel Express is $5 round-trip or $3 one-way. No parking fee is charged for any Tar Heel Express pick-up lot.
  • All buses drop-off along South Road in front of Carmichael Auditorium and Woolen Gym. All buses also pick up from this location post-game.
  • Due to University Place expansion, the Tar Heel Express will no longer service University Place.
  • Following the game, buses run continuously for approximately 45 minutes.

Rams Club Parking

Parking lots throughout campus are designated as reserved Rams Club Parking for football game day patrons. Rams Club parking assignments for football games are managed by The Educational Foundation. Rams Club members at the Big Ram gift level and higher who purchase football season tickets qualify for a parking pass for all home football games.  Active members at the Big Ram giving level and higher will be eligible to select parking through the Kenan Stadium Equity Seating Plan at the same time of seat selection. Reserved lots must be cleared by 8am on Home Football Saturdays.

Disability Parking & Shuttles

Disability Parking is in the Ambulatory Care Lot (ACC) off Mason Farm Road. Patrons with state (any state) disability permits or license plates may park. There is a $10.00 cost per vehicle. The ACC Lot Parking Ambassador, who greets patrons when they arrive at the lot will provide specific parking space options on game day based on vehicle size and patron mobility. Patrons with a temporary mobility issue that do not have a state issued disability permit or plate may arrange for a game day disability parking permit by contacting Parking and Transportation Services at 919-962-3951 or submit requests using the Football Request Form.

Ambulatory Care Lot Game Day Shuttle provides shuttle service from the Ambulatory Care Lot to Kenan Stadium Gates 2 & 6 beginning 3 hours prior to the game and operates until 10 minutes after kick-off. The shuttles provide pick-up/drop-off service throughout the lot and deliver to Kenan Stadium Gates 2 & 6. Patrons are encouraged to check the shuttle labels before boarding to ensure boarding for "north side” or “south side” shuttle. Return shuttle service resumes post-game at Gates 2 & 6 and transport begins as the crowd and traffic allows. Emergency ride back is provided during the game by EMS upon request.

Shuttle drivers are not allowed to accept gratuities as they are paid to operate the shuttles and provide professional service to our valued event patrons with disabilities.
